Which areas do you cover?

We cover the whole of the UK (however our N.I. bakers numbers are very limited)

What age children do you accept?

We currently offer cakes up to and including the child’s 17th birthday.

How do I nominate a child for a cake?

Fill out our form on the link below. This will then be assessed by the team. If for any particular reason your nomination is not accepted we will contact you explaining why.

We cannot guarantee that there will always be a baker in your location with availability but we will always try our very best. As soon as a baker has been assigned, the baker will be in touch directly with you to arrange details.

Child Nomination Form

What size cake is provided?

The cake you receive will usually be either a 6” or 8” single tier (size at bakers discretion) with the design to be discussed with your baker.

Does the recipient have to pay for a cake?

No. Your cake is donated with love by your baker to the nominated child.

My child has siblings, could they get a cake too?

Whilst we truly appreciate that the siblings of the nominated children are also going through a tough time, only the nominated child will be able to receive a cake from us.

What is your criteria for a child to receive a cake?

We offer cakes to children with life limiting/life changing illnesses. All nominations are sent directly to the Cakes For Heroes team who will decide on whether or not an application is successful. The decision of the team is final.

My child received a cake from you last year. Can I nominate them again?

We only accept one nomination per child to enable us to reach as many children as we can. Therefore if your child has previously had a cake from us we are unable to accept another nomination .

How do I join CFH as a baker?

You will need to join our private Facebook group via the link below, please ensure you answer all of the questions to enable us to let you in.

All bakers must be registered with their local council and be able to provide copies of the following up to date documentation via email to; Local Council Registration, Food Hygiene Certificate(min, level 2) , Allergen Awareness Certificate and current bakers insurance.

I am a hobby baker, can I help?

We have made the decision that only fully registered bakers can supply our children with cakes. This is because many of our children have many complex medical needs and/or are immunocompromised so we need to ensure that all precautions have been taken to protect them.

You can still still help us by supporting us by joining our fundraising group, physically fundraising for us, or even just spreading the word for us. If you have any questions please drop us an email. We can help with providing information on how to become a registered baker.

You ask for donations but what happens with the money?

We are currently a non profit organisation and we do have ongoing costs such as websites, advertising, etc to keep us going. We also need to advertise to help us to reach out to find those children & families that we want to help and also to help us recruit more bakers.

The more bakers we have on board, the more cakes we can provide and see more of those amazing smiles!
